For this year's edition of Crépu: Our DNA, activities will include:
- A live hair care demo
- A hair art runway
- Musical and spoken word performances
- Museum presentation - The innovation and history of Black hair care technology in Canada
- Screening of short film Nid d’oiseau and panel discussion
- Reception and music by DJ Velvet
Pieces of Us – Season 3 Episode 1 – The Colour of Love
Pieces of Us is an intimate space and a creative experience dedicated to artists looking to share their gifts and talents on a public platform. It is an environment where you can be your authentic self, think without boundaries, and connect & collaborate with others.
The Colour of Love marries Valentine's and Black History Month together in a celebration of love and the Black community.
We believe that love should be viewed as a source of strength and a driving force for the great works accomplished by the Black community.
The Colour of Love represents an exploration of the power of love through the trials and tribulations faced within the Black community. Artists are encouraged to discuss love of others, through a black lens, love of Black culture and love of self and self acceptance.
Although colour is so often used as a means to define us, love is what allows us to move beyond it.
